Is FB Bombas a real manufacturer or just a fire system integrator?
FB Bombas has been an industrial pump manufacturer since 1944: the centrifugal main pump of the packages is from the FBCN line, made by FB itself. Skids are assembled at our Cabreúva-SP factory, with integration of jockey pump, driver (diesel or electric), control panel and instrumentation — the main pump comes from the factory itself, not from a third-party integrator.
Do FB Bombas skids comply with NFPA 20?
When the project requires it, yes: skids are designed to NFPA 20 (Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection) or ABNT NBR 16704, and main pump, jockey, driver and panel are specified by the adopted standard. The demand comes from the automatic sprinkler (ABNT NBR 10897) or hydrant (ABNT NBR 13714) system design. If the project or the insurer requires UL/FM-listed equipment, state it in the specification: FB does not supply UL/FM-listed packages.
What is the flow and pressure range of FB systems?
There is no fixed published range: each skid is sized for the flow and pressure required by the project, from commercial buildings to industrial plants. State the rated flow, pressure and adopted standard in your request.
Does FB Bombas supply systems with redundant diesel and electric motors?
Yes, when the project specifies it: the configuration with an electric main pump and a diesel main pump keeps an independent driver available if the other fails. It is common in high-criticality buildings, according to the project risk analysis.
How long does it take to manufacture a fire pump skid?
Lead-time varies with skid complexity (flow, redundancy, special materials). The schedule is defined in proposal after technical analysis of the project and dialogue with the responsible engineer.
What is the normative compliance of the control panel?
The control panel is specified by the standard adopted in the project (NFPA 20 or ABNT NBR 16704) and by the low-voltage electrical installation rules (ABNT NBR 5410), and its documentation comes with the package. When the project, the insurer or the authority requires a panel listed for fire pump service (UL/FM), state it in the specification: FB does not supply UL/FM-listed packages.
Does FB Bombas offer on-site commissioning and acceptance testing?
Yes, on request: on-site commissioning can include alignment check, start-up test, jockey pressure switch adjustment and guidance for the operating team. Scope, team and schedule are defined in the proposal.
Is the system compatible with AVCB and Brazilian Fire Department?
The AVCB (the São Paulo Fire Department inspection certificate) is issued for the building, after inspection, not for a piece of equipment. FB Bombas supplies the package documentation used in that process — performance curve and operation manual and, when contracted, technical memorial and ART for the scope — according to the state Technical Instructions.
