How much does a fire pump system cost?
Fire-fighting systems designed to NFPA 20 or ABNT NBR 16704 have no public list price: the value is defined by the project hydraulic demand (sprinkler or hydrant flow × pressure), the driver type (electric, diesel or redundant) and the package scope — main pump, jockey, panel, piped skid or pump house. What drives the price of a fire pump system
Design flow and pressure
The hydraulic demand of the hazard, defined in the system design (for example, automatic sprinklers under ABNT NBR 10897 or hydrants under ABNT NBR 13714), sizes the main pump and driver — the starting point of the value.
Driver type
Electric (TEFC/TEAAC motor), diesel, or electric + diesel redundancy for critical systems — the diesel package adds a fire-service engine, batteries, fuel tank and dedicated panel; whether a listed engine is required follows the project standard.
Package scope
Standard package (main pump + jockey + panel), complete piped skid or prefabricated pump house — each step extends the supply.
Panel and starting method
Control panel and direct, soft or VFD starting (on request), defined by the project standard and ABNT NBR 5410. If the project or the insurer requires a panel listed for fire pump service (UL/FM), state it in the specification: FB Bombas does not supply UL/FM-listed packages.
Tests and documentation
When the project follows NFPA 20, the test curve records 0%, 100% and 150% of rated flow; documented FAT and a package technical dossier for the insurer and the Fire Department, as set in the proposal.

What defines the price of an NFPA 20 fire-fighting system?

Does a diesel system cost more than an electric one?

Diesel is specified when electric power is not assured in the fire scenario; critical systems (data centers, port terminals) may adopt electric + diesel redundancy. The choice comes from the project, not from a catalog.
