Construction and applications
Axially assembled stage casings are held together by external tie rods and flat gaskets. Closed radial single-suction impellers work with diffusers. Configurations include packing or mechanical seals, with grease- or oil-lubricated bearings.
The manual lists clean or turbid liquids in chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, steel, mining and water-treatment processes, among others. Contact FB before selecting a pump for suspended solids.

Sizes and connections
FBME 4/3 denotes a nominal 4-inch discharge and three stages. The four sizes below are documented; the number of stages is selected for the required duty point.

Performance curves
Open the original sheet to check impeller diameter, flow, head and test conditions. Sheet conventions differ: confirm power units and whether head refers to one stage or the assembly before sizing.

- Maximum suction pressure: 10 bar. Maximum discharge pressure at zero flow: 30 bar. These limits do not replace the selected total head.
- Uncooled packing: −10 to 105 °C. Cooled packing: 105 to 140 °C. Mechanical seal: consult its manufacturer, respecting the manual’s 140 °C limit.
- Specified minimum flow: 0.2 × optimum Q. The maximum operating range must follow the selected curve.
