FBE Gear Pumps in Caeté

The FB Bombas rotating set is balanced per ISO 21940 G2.5 (a balancing grade equivalent to API 610 requirements for heavy-duty service) — required for critical projects in Caeté with continuous regime, plants with online vibration monitoring or applications with high cost of unplanned downtime. For machines running above 3,600 RPM or with rotating mass over 50 kg, balancing is performed on two planes with a piezoelectric sensor.

Yes. On the factory bench in Cabreúva/SP the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is carried out: hydraulic test with characteristic-curve measurement (Q × H), hydraulic efficiency, NPSHr and ISO 10816 vibration — witnessed by customer inspection when specified. The SAT (Site Acceptance Test) on Caeté projects counts on application engineering during commissioning, including startup checklist, laser alignment and recording of the baseline vibration signature.

It depends on the configuration: standard-arrangement pumps have shorter lead times, while special constructions follow the schedule stated in the technical proposal. The deciding factor is the combination of series, materials and stock availability — and transport to Caeté goes through our regular road operator.

During a plant shutdown in Caeté, critical parts — mechanical seal, impeller, shaft, wear ring, bearings — enter FB Bombas' emergency flow: pre-invoicing, priority dispatch and choice of alternative modal (express road or air, depending on distance and criticality). Typical lead time depends on the region and the window is negotiated case by case. Customers with an installed base and scheduled PM can keep part of the stock on consignment at the plant.

It does. When a special application demands something beyond the standard portfolio, FB Bombas develops the solution: modified construction materials, specific sealing arrangements, system-integrated heating, skids, mobile assemblies and retrofit of existing installations. Engineering reviews each special project as a step prior to manufacturing.

They do. The FBCN series dimensionally meets ASME B73.1, the North American standard for horizontal end-suction process centrifugal pumps. In practice, a Caeté plant running a normalized pump of the same designation achieves retrofit on the already-installed baseplate: since shaft dimensions, suction/discharge flanges, casing feet and impeller centerline follow the same standard, the FBCN pump takes the place of the previous one — piping and baseplate stay intact. Hydraulic equivalence (Q×H and NPSH) is checked separately, on the data sheet.

The FB line covers a wide range: mineral and synthetic oils, asphalt (CAP), BPF fuel oils, petroleum derivatives, molasses, resins, viscous chemical and hydraulic products (FBE series); raw and treated water, process fluids, industrial effluents (FBCN series); thermal oil at elevated temperatures (FBOT series). Each application is sized according to fluid viscosity, temperature and chemical compatibility.

They are. For each delivery to Caeté, FB Bombas assembles the unit's complete technical Data Book, containing: hydraulic test certificate, material certificates — stainless steel, duplex or ductile cast iron, per spec —, ISO 21940 G2.5 balancing report, characteristic curve obtained on the bench, API 682 mechanical-seal data sheets, operation and maintenance manual and as-built drawings. Full traceability happens through the serial number.

It does. The technical support and logistics covering Caeté are the same applied to the metropolitan region and nearby microregions. That operating radius enables coordinated service to industrial plants distributed across several cities.

It is compatible when the dimension designation is the same. ASME B73.1 (North American dimensional standard for end-suction process pumps), adopted in the FBCN series, defines an envelope common to the whole normalized fleet operating in Caeté plants, whoever manufactured the installed unit. In a typical retrofit, baseplate, suction/discharge piping and foundations are preserved, and FB Bombas supplies the complete new pump — not loose parts for third-party equipment. The dimensional and hydraulic gap analysis is executed by application engineering before supplying.
