How much does a gear pump cost?

The price of an industrial gear pump is defined by diameter (flow), construction materials, sealing and options such as a heating jacket. At public market prices in Brazil (2026), compact small-frame models appear at resellers from ~R$ 2,900; larger diameters, stainless-steel versions, heated-jacket builds or complete motor-pump units are quoted per project. FB Bombas manufactures the FBE (external gear) and FBEI (internal gear) series and quotes factory-direct, with engineering sizing included.

What drives the price of a gear pump

Diameter and flow

The FBE line spans 1/8" to 6" — from ~5 L/min to high flows: frame size defines casing, gears, shafts and motor power.

Construction materials

Cast iron (standard), carbon steel or AISI 316/316L stainless casing; gears in hardened carbon steel, hardened stainless or Stellite for abrasive fluids.

Sealing

Packing, cartridge mechanical seal or magnetic drive — selected per fluid, temperature and available NPSH; each arrangement carries its own cost.

Heating jacket (CA)

Optional from 1.1/2" up, for asphalt, resins and waxes that solidify: adds jacket machining plus a dedicated pressure and tightness test.

Accessories and package

Bare-shaft pump, complete motor-pump unit on baseplate, relief valve or skid mounting change the scope of supply — and the value.

Public market reference (2026, Brazil): compact gear pumps from ~R$ 2,900 at resellers. Larger diameters (2" to 6"), stainless steel, heating jacket, high viscosities (up to 100,000 SSU) and motorized packages: quoted per application with a technical-commercial proposal from FB Bombas engineering.

Why does gear pump pricing vary so much?

Because between a 1/8" cast-iron model with packing and a 6" stainless model with cartridge mechanical seal and heating jacket there is a step change in materials, machining and motor. The four main drivers are: diameter/flow, materials (cast iron → 316 stainless), sealing (packing → seal → magnetic) and options such as heating jacket and skid. That is why manufacturers size before pricing.

Does the heating jacket increase the gear pump price?

Yes — the heating jacket (CA), available on the FBE line from 1.1/2" up, adds jacket machining and a dedicated pressure and tightness test with its own certificate. It is recommended for fluids that solidify at ambient temperature, such as asphalt, resins and waxes: the added cost prevents start-ups with solidified fluid and production stoppages.

Can I buy a gear pump factory-direct?

Yes. FB Bombas manufactures the FBE and FBEI series in Cabreúva-SP and sells factory-direct: the quotation includes fluid, viscosity, flow and pressure analysis by application engineering, factory warranty and genuine spare parts (gears, shafts, seals, bearings) from the manufacturer itself. Send your application data through the form on this page.

Buy factory-direct

Application engineering in the specification

Fluid, viscosity, flow, pressure and available NPSH analyzed by the people who build the pump — model and sealing selection comes from engineering, before the proposal.

Factory warranty

Contractual warranty against manufacturing defects issued by the manufacturer itself, with terms detailed in writing in every commercial proposal.

Genuine parts and direct after-sales

Genuine spare parts (impellers, gears, shafts, seals, bearings) and after-sales technical support come from the same plant that built your pump.

Factory lead time confirmed in writing

The manufacturing order opens at the plant itself and the lead time is documented in the technical-commercial proposal, along with performance curve and conditions.
